World Wide Christian Martyr Memorial Day

   Welcome to World Wide Christian Martyr Memorial Day. Starting this ministry has been a dream of mine for many years, and now with the help of Brother Albert Diaz it has come to pass. 

     As a Pastor I would stop like many other pastors every year to acknowledge our brave soldiers who have made and continue to make a tremendous sacrifice by going off to war and in some cases giving their lives in order for us to be free in this great country of ours.    

     In celebrating these brave men and women in combat and remembering those who died I would wonder why isn’t the church acknowledging and remembering all the Christian Martyr’s that have gone before us and all the Christians today throughout the world who are giving their lives for sake of the Gospel.  If the world can honor men and women who have died for their country and rightly so, then why should not the church honor and remember Christian soldiers world wide? Did you know that every country in the world has a memorial day for soldiers that have fought for their country?

     Many Christian today would not have a bible in their native tongue if it were not for men like Wycliffe, Luther, Tyndale, and others who are less known who put their lives on the line in order to bring this to past today. It was a time in history that many Christians are oblivious to and it is time for the church to celebrate them.

     “WWCMM Day” was birthed in December of 2009. We are asking Pastors worldwide on the Sunday after Resurrection Sunday which this year would be April 24, 2011 to celebrate Christian Martyrs past and present.

     It is my hearts desire that through this movement, Christians who are sitting in churches today throughout the world enjoying their bible in their native tongue would have a great appreciation for men and women who have given, are giving, and will give their lives for the gospel we find our salvation in.

     Please help us get the word out. If you are not a Pastor reading this please let your pastor know about this movement by directing him to this website.

     In closing I would like to share an article from the Christian History Institute;

Quote:

    If ancient illustrations of faith, which testify to God’s grace and tend to edify people are collected in writing, so that by reading them and recreating the facts in our minds, God is honored, and people are strengthened, why should not new instances of faith also be collected, that shall achieve both purposes in our day? After all, we can argue that the modern examples will one day become ancient and available for posterity, although at present they are considered of less authority, because they are not old. 

     Think about it this way: if the power of the Holy Spirit is the same across times and seasons, then some things of later date must be considered more important than the old events, being nearer to the very last times—because grace is going to be exhibited more powerfully in the final days of this age. For “in the last days, says the Lord, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh; and their sons and their daughters shall prophesy. And upon my servants and my handmaidens will I pour out my Spirit; and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.” And so we, who acknowledge and reverence the prophecies as well as the modern visions which were promised to us, consider the powers of the Holy Spirit as an agency for the Church for which also He was sent. He administers all gifts among us, even as the Lord distributed gifts to everyone. Therefore we need to collect accounts in writing, so as to commemorate them in reading to God’s glory and so that no weakness or despondency of faith will arise among us which supposes that divine grace showed itself only among the ancients, whether in respect of the divine humility that raised up martyrs, or that gave revelations; since God always carries into effect what He promises as a testimony to unbelievers, and a benefit to believers.

    Therefore, what we have heard and handled, we declare also to you, brethren and little children, that you who were concerned in these matters may be reminded of them again to the glory of the Lord; and you who know of them only by report may have communion with the blessed martyrs, and through them with the Lord Jesus Christ, to whom be glory and honor, for ever and ever. Amen.  (unquote)

     Please join us in this ministry by dedicating  April 24, 2011 to celebrating Christian martyr’s and joining us every year till the Lord’s return in honoring such a great cloud of witnesses that have gone before us and continue to this day.
